· Name, address and contact telephone numbers (as provided by the customer)
· Vehicle Registration Number (as provided by the customer)

 

Our Legitimate Interest for holding this information is to enable us to remind our customers when their MOT or vehicle service is due. We also use vehicle registration numbers to ensure parts are correctly supplied. We may occasionally use contact details to notify customers of any special offers or deals.
This information is stored electronically on our Garage Assistant computer programme, electronically within our VT Book-Keeping system, manually within our book-keeping files and manually in our workshop diaries.
Our electronic storage systems are password protected and our manual records are stored in lockable cabinets.
With the exception of vehicle registration numbers for parts ordering; John White Vehicle Repairs Ltd does not share your information with any third parties.
John White Vehicle Repairs Ltd will retain the information about its customers on the Garage Assistant Computer Programme for five years from their last contact with us. Our book-keeping records must be retained for 6 years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to in accordance with government HMRC requirements.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation customers have the right to; access their information; rectify inaccurate or incomplete data; request the erasure of their data; restrict how their data is processed; and object to the use of their information.  Should a customer wish to exercise any of these rights or wish to discuss any  concerns or queries they should do so by contacting us by email: leybourne.mot@btconnect.com or telephone: 01622 718383.
Please note that should a customer be unhappy about the way we implement data protection they have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
